Gaines and Company Helps Raise Funds for Construction Angels

On March 22, six construction workers were killed on Maryland’s I-695 after a car lost control and sped through an active work zone. This horrific accident on the Baltimore Beltway left six families grieving losses of loved ones. Construction Angels immediately stepped in to provide emotional and financial support for the families, and Gaines and Company helped raise awareness of their efforts.

About Construction Angels

Construction Angels is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides immediate financial assistance and grief counseling to children and spouses of victims fatally injured in construction-related incidents.

“After hearing about the horrific incident on the Baltimore Beltway, we wanted to help in whatever way we could. When we heard about Construction Angels’ efforts to raise money to provide emotional and financial support to these families, we pulled together to get their message out,” said Vice President David Gaines.

Gaines and Company Involvement

Gaines and Company promptly went to social media to share Construction Angels’ objective of raising $50,000 by June 1 to support these families. In addition, some Gaines and Company employees also posted details of the organization’s fundraising goal to their personal social media accounts, which furthered the reach of the message.

Construction Angels raised $50,000 for the victims’ families by early April – nearly two months ahead of their goal. All six families received immediate financial and emotional help after this tragedy thanks to the efforts of organizations and contributors throughout the industry and community.

“The amount of money Construction Angels quickly raised was impressive. But we knew we didn’t want our support and relationship to end there. We will be participating in a couple upcoming local Construction Angels fundraisers to raise additional money for the organization, as well as continuing to use our social media platforms to sponsor their local events and needs,” said David. He added, “We truly believe in the work of this organization and want to continue supporting their efforts as the construction industry as a whole works to eliminate construction-related injuries and fatalities.”

Gaines and Company immediately took to social media to spread awareness of Construction Angels’ efforts to raise funds for the six families who lost loved ones during the horrific accident on Maryland’s I-695.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing support from Gaines and Company and the rest of the Maryland community. Witnessing them pull together so quickly in support of these families has been inspiring,” said Construction Angels CEO and Founder Kristi Gibbs. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Gaines and Company.”
