You don’t have to be a large operation to provide efficient, dependable, quality work. In fact, when it comes to cast-in-place concrete work, Gaines and Company’s Maryland office calls one man – Bob Ludwig with Maryland General Contractors, Inc.
“It’s just me and a handful of others,” said Maryland General Contractors Vice President Bob Ludwig. “We get so much done together. We are like a machine. And when needed, we grab employees from other small companies to get the job done.”
When Bob started the concrete company in 1996, he and his now-wife were just dating. Almost thirty years later, she manages the office work and is the president of the company.
Bob works closely with Gaines and Company’s project managers and superintendents to provide cast-in-place concrete work for larger structures, such as headwalls, storm drain outfalls, and sidewalks. He forms the structures and footers, ties rebar, and pours the concrete.
“My first job was actually with Gaines and Company. They are an awesome company to work for,” said Bob.
Bob has worked on several notable projects over the years with Gaines and Company, including Cedar Hill (Brooklyn Park), Gateway West (Kenilworth Avenue), and Avalon Residential (Clarksburg).
“Bob is genuinely honest, hardworking, and great to work with. We can always count on him to safely deliver quality work,” said Gaines Project Manager Tighe Harrison.

Bob likes to be involved in the local community, as well. He sponsors and coaches a youth soccer team every year, and can often be found snowboarding with his grandkids.
