Gaines and Company had the honor of celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2024. We’ve seen how it has changed over the years, accepted employees as family, and turned jobs into careers. But none of this could have been done without industry and community support.

Over the past 70 years, Gaines and Company has become a staple in many regional and national industry associations. For example, Gaines leaders – along with other members of the Associated Utility Contractors (AUC) of Maryland – were integral in the establishment of safe trenching policies decades ago that are now used as standards throughout the state of Maryland. Gaines employees continue to hold board seats and volunteer time to impact decisions made by industry associations. And that’s not stopping any time soon. In fact, Gaines invests time and resources into ensuring the next generation of leaders remains engaged in industry associations, like by sending Jake Grammer to Carolinas Association of General Contractors (CAGC) Young Leader Conference for leadership development.
