ABOUT GAINES AND COMPANY
Gaines & Company is a turnkey site development company with offices in Maryland and North Carolina. Celebrating 70 years of experience in underground utilities, grading and excavating, sediment and erosion controls, and road work – including paving, sidewalks, and storm water management. Our clientele includes home builders, developers, general and underground utility contractors, and military personnel.
As a Top 600 Specialty Contractor, we work with state, federal, and municipal authorities – as well as military installations – in Maryland, North Carolina, Washington D.C. and Delaware.
Founded in 1954 by W. L. Gaines, Sr., Gaines & Company began working in small subdivisions in Baltimore County, Maryland. Current president, W. Lee Gaines, Jr., joined the company in 1973, and expanded operations to the Mid-Atlantic region.
In 1998, the North Carolina office was established to meet the needs of Gaines’ Maryland customers who had migrated south but still wanted the quality work assurance of Gaines and Company. Our team has successfully delivered major projects to these valued residential, commercial, and military customers in Wake and Harnett Counties – including Raleigh, Garner, Knightdale, and Fayetteville.
Gaines and Company is now a major competitor in the North Carolina market, performing underground utilities, grading and excavation, and turnkey site development. In addition to Maryland and North Carolina, Gaines is also licensed in Delaware and Washington, D.C.
Our philosophy of meeting and exceeding expectations has built us an extensive network of long-lasting relationships and repeat customers up and down the east coast.
Gaines and Company is a leader in the land development industry in both Maryland and North Carolina. We’ve laid thousands of miles of pipe, satisfied hundreds of well-respected clients in the Mid-Atlantic region, and amassed a fleet of over 350 pieces of well-maintained, advanced heavy equipment to successfully complete projects of all sizes for a variety of industries.
Gaines utilizes state-of-the-art GPS survey equipment for both layout and operations, as well as 3-D earthwork design. Our estimating software takes the guesswork out of the bidding process and provides a quick response to our clients.
