A Garden of Gratitude for Bob Kolarek in His Retirement

Gaines and Company is a little less bright today as we say goodbye to Bob Kolarek, a beloved fixture of our team. After an impressive two decades of dedicated service, Bob is finally hanging up his hat and embarking on a well-deserved retirement.

Bob joined Gaines and Company in March 2004, bringing with him extensive experience in HR and payroll administration. He quickly became a cornerstone of the company’s operations, expertly managing both North Carolina and Maryland payroll and HR functions for two decades. His dedication even led to him taking on 75% of the department’s workload until Kitsy was hired to assist him.

Known affectionately as “Payroll Bob,” Bob is known for going above and beyond his official duties. He tackles everything from insurance to benefits, ensuring every detail is handled with care and efficiency. He embodies the spirit of a great team player, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

“Bob is the epitome of a great person,” said Eileen Dowling, Accountant. “He’s quiet, always positive, and never lets anything ruffle his feathers. No matter how busy or stressful things get, Bob always manages to keep a calm and helpful demeanor.”

Dominic Pope, Safety Director, adds, “Bob is one of those rare individuals who truly fits a company like a glove. His positive impact goes far beyond his professional contributions. He’s always brought a smile to the team’s face and kept us grounded. Every day he will be missed.”

Bob’s dedication extends beyond the workplace. He is actively involved in his church, showcasing his musical talent as an organist, including playing at funerals. He also cherishes his large family, boasting 4 children and 13 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his siblings, relaxing by his pool, and traveling. Family will be at the heart of Bob’s retirement.

While retirement beckons with promises of gardening, relaxation, and more time with loved ones, Bob will continue to lend his expertise part-time, ensuring a smooth transition for the payroll department.

“Bob’s presence will be deeply missed,” said David Gaines, Vice President. “He’s a well-liked person with a warm smile who has been a big part of our company culture. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement!”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bob for his years of loyal service. We know he will enjoy a happy and fulfilling retirement filled with laughter, family time, and exciting adventures.
