Gaines and Company Recognized with Gold Award of Excellence

When all levels of an organization – from upper management throughout the crews on site – prioritize safe work every single day, it doesn’t go unnoticed. That is the case with Gaines and Company’s organization-wide commitment to safety. Gaines and Company was recently awarded the Gold Award of Excellence from the Chesapeake Region Safety Council (CRSC).
Celebrating 100 years of service, the CRSC is a private, non-profit, non-governmental public service organization. Its mission is to provide safety training and education that will reduce injuries and save lives.
“The Chesapeake Region Safety Council has not only played a huge part in the success of my career, but also in the success of Gaines and Company’s culture,” said Safety Director Dominic Pope, who accepted the award on behalf of Gaines and Company from CRSC President Dave Madaras. “Their courses have really set up our organization for safe operations.”
The Gold Award of Excellence was presented to Gaines and Company for its outstanding commitment to safety.
CRSC’s Gold Award of Excellence was awarded based off several components related to an organization’s safety performance data and safety program components. After factoring in these elements, Gaines and Company was among the top safety performers.
“Everyone within our organization – throughout all levels of all departments – played a part in achieving this recognition. I couldn’t be prouder of our entire team,” said Dominic.
Gaines and Company has an industry-leading safety program that includes toolbox talks, safety recognition program, Stop Work Authority, continuous training, and open communication. The organization believes that crews must always look out for one another, and work should not be done if it cannot be completed safely.
“Here at Gaines, we believe safety and production go hand-in-hand,” said Vice President David Gaines. “When a company works with us, they know that the safety of everyone on the job site is our top priority. I am grateful to the Chesapeake Region Safety Council for not only supporting our success, but also recognizing our consistent commitment to safe work on all our site development projects.”
