Gaines and Company Site Development Recognized for Safety Achievement
Gaines and Company Site Development received the Hazard Recognition Award for both their Reisterstown, Maryland, and Knightdale, North Carolina, offices from the National Safety Council (NSC). The award recognized their premier hazard recognition program that has been successfully preventing injuries and incidents since it was established in November 2013.
Recipients of the NSC’s Hazard Recognition Award had to demonstrate that their hazard recognition program focuses on four specific criteria:
- Employee education – Employees must not only understand the importance of the program, but also clearly identify their role in it.
- Report Hazards – An avenue must be established for employees to report hazards.
- Track Hazards and Corrective Actions – A clear process must be in place to track hazards, as well as the status of corrective actions taken.
- Engage and Acknowledge Employees – Not only must the program engage employees, but it must also display a consistent practice of acknowledging employee participation.
